Friday June 9th, Borris House, Carlow

Those who know the Friday night of the Borris Festival of Writing & Ideas know that is the real gem, and we like to announce the speakers coming that night first. They are: Sir Tim Smit, the entrepreneur behind The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project, Louise Richardson, Vice Chancellor of Oxford University, Claire Keegan, Ireland most sublime living short story writer and author of Foster, Maajid Nawaz, ex political prisoner and activist and Founder of Quilliam, Peter Frankopan, author of The Silk Roads, Mary Robinson, Ireland's first female President and former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Paul Howard, aka Ross O’Carroll Kelly, Irish comedians Kevin Gildea and Andrew Maxwell, and returning after his hugely successful visit last year, poet, broadcaster, Manchester University Chancellor Lemn Sissay.

Borris Village in County Carlow is worth going for alone, but, just in case, we still have one very special musician guest still to announce for Friday, so we recommend you buy your Friday ticket before the word gets out.
