MARTIN AMIS & CHRISSIE HYNDE JOIN LINE-UP
We are delighted to welcome back Martin Amis to our festival, who joined us last in 2013 and for her first visit, Chrissie Hynde, founding member of The Pretenders.
Now in its fifth year, The Borris House Festival of Writing & Ideas (the spoken word strand of Carlow Arts Festival) will bring together fiction writers, historians, journalists, broadcasters, photographers, war correspondents and musicians for a riveting weekend of dialogues and discussion over the weekend of June 10th – 12th. Over 70 speakers will descend on the idyllic agricultural village of Borris, County Carlow, for a three-day gathering designed to inspire positive change.
From grim tales of international warzones to 70s punk-scene anarchy, from Jack the Ripper (via Withnail & I) to a South London rapper’s first novel – yet firmly rooted in the literary world of Pulitzer and Booker royalty – this festival is dense with opportunity, and shot through with cultural curiosities. The festival has become known for its casual, languid atmosphere, and for its extraordinary line-up of speakers. It takes place in the breath-taking grounds of Borris House and spills out into the village around it.
Weekend and Day Tickets are now on sale here. Individual talk tickets will be released next week.
