KERN

Kern is a contemporary folk band from Louth which blends the driving  uilleann  pipes and poignant whistles of Brendan  McCreanor  with the dynamic fiddle playing of Barry  Kieran  and the dark, authoritative voice and guitar of SJ  McArdle.  The band ‘s debut album  False Deceiver, produced by Trevor Hiutchinson (Lúnasa, The Waterboys), was praised by fRoots Magazine  for its  “solid grasp of traditional and contemporary forms: rich sonorous blending of uilleann pipes and fiddle lift the instrumentals, while SJ McArdle’s gritty voice and dexterous songs add an interesting extra lustre.”
