Christopher Bland is a former chairman of the BBC, BT and Royal Shakespeare Company. His Anglo-Irish heritage feeds into his new novel Ashes In The Wind. An authentic and very emotive story set in Ireland in 1919, with the War of Independence and the Civil War imminent, the friendship of two boys, Irish-born, Thomas Sullivan and Anglo- Irish, James Burke is about to be torn apart. The novel spans three generations of the Sullivan and Burke family, following their dramatic and poignant story across Kerry, Spain, Northumberland and Mount Athos.
