He occasionally finds time to perform solo, a rare and fortuitous experience. As he says, ‘My solo show I treat as a blank canvas. I bring with me a piano and a number of other instruments and step into the unknown magic of people and music.
I give voice to traditional music from Ireland and abroad, along with songs from the rock ‘n ‘roll world I sometimes live in. Perhaps a song is born on the night, or if someone mentions a song I might very we ‘ll leap into it. ‘ An organic and beautiful experience, an evening in the company of a musician of this caliber will be nothing short of special.
The Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas is genuinely proud to welcome to the stage one of Ireland ‘s cultural strongmen. Liam will be in conversation with Booker Prize winning Nigerian poet Ben Okri the following day.
