One of Ireland’s most cherished cultural milestones, The Borris House Festival of Writing & Ideas, is pleased to announce a further six speakers for its 2020 event. The Festival takes place in Borris, Co Carlow, on June 12th to 14th, 2020.
We are honoured to welcome back Philippe Sands (whose new book The Ratline is released next April), alongside three thrilling fiction writers – the globally acclaimed novelist Ian McEwan, the eagerly anticipated debutant Elaine Feeney (her forthcoming book As You Were is tipped by many as their 2020 book choice) and one of contemporary literature’s greatest talents Sarah Waters (Tipping the Velvet, Fingersmith, The Night Watch, The Little Stranger). Comedian and actress Ruby Wax, author of How to be Human, will also join us, as will UK Poet Laureate Simon Armitage, taking to the stage for one of the T.S. Eliot Foundation’s annual ‘Poetry at Borris’ presentations.
2020 SPEAKERS: Simon Armitage – Margaret Atwood – Antony Beevor – Emma Dabiri – Bernardine Evaristo – Elaine Feeney – Richard Ford – Xiaolu Guo – Tessa Hadley – Marian Keyes – Max Porter – Manchan Magan – Ian McEwan – Ben McIntyre – Mary Robinson – Philippe Sands – Sarah Waters – Ruby Wax – and that is only the start.
Further speakers announcements will take place in February.

We are also delighted to announce that our partnership with the Doyle Collection and Crownway Investments will continue for another 3 years after 2020. We would like to thank them for believing in what we do.
