Editor in Chief at Bloomsbury Press, Alexandra Pringle is one of GQ’s 100 most connected women, which is a list of, “strategically aligned, socially embedded and beyond-the-call-of-duty, public-spirited women who currently define the age of interdependence”. Her list of authors includes Medline Miller, Margaret Atwood, Colum McCann, Patti Smith and Elizabeth Gilbert. A ever rising force in publishing, before Bloomsbury, she worked with Hamish Hamilton, prior to that, Virago Press, beginning and a editorial assistant for Art Monthly. She acted independently as a literary agent in the 1990’s. She lives on a houseboat, organises events for the Chelsea Arts Club and is a Patron of the Index on Censorship, which is a publishing campaign for freedom of expression.
