Christine Dwyer Hickey is a novelist and short story writer. She has published eight novels, one short story collection and a full-length play. Her short stories have won several awards. Her most recent novel The Narrow Land (Atlantic UK) is set on Cape Cod in 1950 and is a study of the marriage of artists Edward and Jo Hopper. It was the 2020 winner of the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction and was also the winner of the inaugural Dalkey Literary Award. Her novel Tatty was Unesco One City One Book 2020. Her novels have been translated into many languages. She is a member of Aosdana.
