“
Harry Parker grew up in Wiltshire, England. He served in Iraq in 2007 and Afghanistan in 2009.
His debut novel, Anatomy of a Soldier, is unlike any other war novel. Its story is told through the view of 45 inanimate objects (a bike, dog tags, a bag of fertiliser), ‘like you could chuck them into the air and read them in any order, because that ‘s what it ‘s like to be blown up.’
It is a gripping novel, set in a chillingly realistic conflict zone.
“”This is a brilliant book, direct from the battle zone, where all the paraphernalia of slaughter is deployed to tell its particular and savage story.”” (Edna O’Brien)
