Her first novel, Queztel Summer was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Young British Writer of the Year, A Trip to the Light Fantastic (republished as Travels with a Mexican Circus) was shortlisted for the Thomas Cook Travel Book Award, her Daughters of Britannia €“ was a best-seller. Born to a diplomatic family she spent more than 25 years living and exploring abroad. With strengths both in history and adventure she brings both to life in the pages of her work. She is featured in Wayward Women: A Guide to Women Travellers, Oxford University Press.
