Nick Laird: Born in County Tyrone in 1975, Nick Laird is a poet, novelist, screenwriter and former lawyer. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Betty Trask Prize, the Somerset Maugham award, the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature, and a Guggenheim fellowship. His most recent books are the poetry collection, Feel Free, the novel Modern Gods, and the children’s book, Weirdo. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, he is the Seamus Heaney Professor of Poetry at Queen’s University, Belfast and on faculty at New York University
